How to show the bookmarks bar

By Sam Wilson. Last updated August 1, 2026.

The bookmarks bar is the strip of saved links under the address bar. If you cannot see it, it is probably switched off. Here is how to turn it on in every major browser, Chrome to Safari to Firefox. The fastest way is a keyboard shortcut.

The keyboard shortcut

In Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Arc, press Ctrl + Shift + B (Cmd + Shift + B on a Mac). The same shortcut hides the bar again, so you can toggle it on and off.

From the menu

In Chrome, Edge, and Brave, open the menu, choose Bookmarks, then turn on Show bookmarks bar.

Chrome: menu, then Bookmarks, then Show bookmarks bar.

In Safari and Firefox

You can show the bar in these browsers too, they just name it differently. In Safari, open the View menu, then choose Show Favorites Bar. In Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + B (Cmd + Shift + B on a Mac), or open the Bookmarks menu, then Bookmarks Toolbar, then Always Show.

One thing to know: Diviide's separators are built for Chromium browsers like Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Arc. You can still show the bar in Safari and Firefox, but a separator may not keep its color there. See how Diviide works in Safari and Firefox.

Next steps

With the bar showing, you can fill it. See how to use Diviide to add separators, or how to organize bookmarks for a full system.
