Using the bookmark manager

The bookmark manager is a full page for managing all your bookmarks at once. It is good for sorting and clearing out. It also has two limits worth knowing up front: it does not show how your bar actually looks, and it cannot make separators.

How to open it

In Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Arc, press Ctrl + Shift + O (Cmd + Option + B on a Mac).

Safari and Firefox have their own version. In Firefox, press Ctrl +Shift + O (Cmd + Shift + O on a Mac) to open the Library. In Safari, open the Bookmarks menu, then Edit Bookmarks. What it is good for

The manager shines for a big tidy up. You can drag bookmarks to reorder them, make folders and move links into them, rename or edit entries, search across everything, and select many at once to delete. Where it falls short

Two things hold it back for day to day setup:

• It does not show your real bar. You see a list, not the row of icons you actually use. So you cannot tell how the bar will look while you work, and you end up switching back and forth to check.
• It cannot make separators. There is no option to add one. To place one visually, use Diviide.

A good workflow

Use the manager for the heavy lifting: declutter, then sort what is left into folders. If things are a real mess, move everything into one folder first, then pull out and place the bookmarks that matter one by one. Then switch to your bar and use Diviide to add separators, where you can see the result as you go.
