How to delete bookmarks and separators
By Sam Wilson. Last updated August 1, 2026.
Removing a bookmark is quick. Right click it and choose Delete. A separator is a bookmark too, so you remove it the same way. Below are the steps, plus how to clear several at once.
Delete one bookmark
In Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Arc, right click the bookmark, then choose Delete.
Safari and Firefox work the same way. In Safari, Control-click the bookmark on the Favorites bar, then choose Delete. In Firefox, right-click the bookmark, then choose Delete Bookmark. Diviide's separators are built for Chromium browsers, so if you are picking one out, see how Diviide works in Safari and Firefox.
Delete a separator
A separator looks different, but it is still a bookmark. Right click it on your bar and choose Delete. It comes off just like any other bookmark. If you want to replace it, you can add a new separator in a few seconds.
Delete several at once
To clear out more than one, open the bookmark manager. In Chrome, Edge, and Brave, press Ctrl + Shift + O (Cmd + Option + B on a Mac) to open it. Select the bookmarks you want, then delete them together. This is the fast way to declutter before you organize your bookmarks.
In Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + O (Cmd + Shift + O on a Mac) to open the Library. In Safari, open the Bookmarks menu, then Edit Bookmarks. Either one lets you select several and remove them together.
